Ansel Adams in Perfect Focus,
Thanks to The University of Arizona
In 1973, Ansel Adams bequeathed his entire archive to The University of Arizona, which inspired the founding of the UA’s Center for Creative Photography. Now visitors to the UA - researchers, historians, students and arts enthusiasts -- can appreciate the work of one of the country’s greatest photographers. The Ansel Adams collection includes his camera equipment and hundreds of manuscripts, book layouts and letters. It also includes more than 40,000 negatives and proof prints and 2,500 exhibition prints. The UA is home to the world’s largest and most complete collection of works of this larger-than-life American artist.
